Why St. Louis? This is a question that I get asked a lot. So here is the question I pose back to you, Why not?
St. Louis is a great city full of rich culture. Located right off the Mississippi River, this city has grown into one of the biggest cities in the country but one of the friendliest as well. Known for it's sports teams, football Rams, hockey Blues, and baseball CARDINALS!!!!
What that's not enough? OK how about this?
The Universities that St. Louis has to offer are not unknown schools. Just one step below Ivy league. The idea of even getting into a school like St. Louis University (SLU) was, in my mind, out of reach. On a whim on Dec 31, 2011 I applied not knowing I even had a shot. Come February I found out that not only did I get in but I received a scholarship as well. A dream come true for someone that understands the potential of a great school.
OK, Education is great and all but why did I really even want to apply there?
It comes down to the fact that St. Louis is home. I grew up it is great city. Attending Glenridge Elementary, Wydown Middle School, and Clayton High School. I have always wanted to go back and have been looking for a way to get there. A few years back I promised my friend Emily that after I finished my AS Degree at Salt Lake Community College I would move back and be close to her. However, I wanted to continue my education. The logical choice was the University of Utah but let's face it I would have never been happy there. So back home I go. Leaving a lot of things behind but starting a new adventure in my life. It will be great and lots of fun but I don't want to loose touch with anyone so follow this blog and see what happens along the way.
